Powell's obscure early work at Gaumont-British, first collaboration with Alfred Junge. A heavily theatrical whodunit film with overly British characters and an unsatisfying rushed ending.

影片剧情跌宕起伏，情节设置环环相扣，从开场便紧紧抓住观众眼球，毫无拖沓之感，一路引领我们深入故事核心，着实过瘾。

说实话，一开始这部剧没什么感觉，后面慢慢看进去之后反而挺有味道，不是那种看几分钟就想关掉的。

导演Michael Powell在这部作品中尝试了不同的叙事风格和表现手法，虽然效果有限但值得鼓励。
